Story

Facebook Home Features
Changing the typical cover screen of your smartphone, Facebook Home replaces it with a new customized Facebook screen that shows the Facebook content of your profile including photos, messages and status updates.
Not only this, but the team has also came up with the new cover feed which covers the entire screen of your phone. The new-styled notifications have made the contact list much interesting as the notifications are shown with person’s name and profile picture.
Just like Microsoft launched its Windows 8 for your system, Facebook has recalled its Facebook home as system software for your android phone. The application allows the user to use and install other apps on the phone without leading to the compatibility issues but being Facebook biased enough, the actual theme revolves around your Facebook world.
Facebook Home as Zuckerberg sees it!
The founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg talked about the new idea on an event that was especially planned to promote the new Facebook Home for Android phones where he shared his ideology in the following words:
“We’re going to talk about how to make your phone a great social device. We spend 20% of our time on phones on Facebook, not counting Instagram , We spend our lives sharing. What would happen if our phones were designed around people not apps? Today our phones are designed around apps, not people. We’re going to flip that around.
Instead of a list of apps you get fresh content, It gave it (Facebook) this soul. We don’t want to build a phone or operating system that some people will use; Even if we did build a really good phone we’d only serve 1% of our community. We’re not building a phone. We’re not building an operating system.”

Compatible Android Devices for Facebook Home
The idea of this new interface has been brought up by the partnership of the company with HTC and AT&T. The upcoming models of the stated mobile brands would be reloaded with Home too. The app is expected to work completely fine on almost all of the android phones having an android system at least Ice-cream Sandwich. However, the app works smooth for the HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 2, as well as the forthcoming HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4.

- Run Disk Cleanup Utility. Type Disk Cleanup in Start Menu or Start Screen and hit Enter to bring it up. Run it. You may also wish to consider the More Options that it offers. You may also want to activate the enhanced version of the Disk Cleanup Tool or make it delete even 7 day old temporary files. You can also free up additional disk space by removing all but the most recent system restore point using the Disk Cleanup utility.
- Uninstall programs that you do not use, through the Control Panel. Windows 8 users may also want to uninstall Windows Store apps they do not use.
- Download and install some good freeware junk cleaner like CCleaner, TuneUp Utilities. They are good and safe utilities that will help you remove your unwanted junk files in a few clicks.
- Disable Hibernation and delete the Hiberfil.sys file, if the space problem is critical on your System Drive. Its a hidden file on the root directory of your system drive. Open Control Panel. Type Hibernate in the search bar. Select turn Hibernate On / Off.
- If you have some data files or pictures, etc, that you don’t access frequently, consider compressing them using the zip or the rar formats. Also consider moving them to another drive or back them up externally, instead.
- If you have installed a Service Pack recently and things are file, you can reclaim disk space by deleting the unwanted back up files.
- You may want to consider compressing some files. One option not considered by many, is the ability of your Windows to compress files and folders. Most feel that after compression, re-accessing files and data is slow and that it takes time to open such compressed files. I urge you to try it. You will find that the time difference is imperceptible. But you will be able to reclaim a lot of disk space this way. Do note however, that you should not compress the Windows or the Program Files Folder using this method.
I do not recommend the following to save disk space:
- I do not suggest deleting the Prefetch files. Every time you clean up the Prefetch folder, you delay application load times, the next time you launch them. Its only after the second time that you regain optimal application load times. Only one Prefetch file is created per application. Windows cleans this folder at 128 entries, down to the 32 most used Application’s prefetcher files. This folder does not occupy more than around 50MB. Cleaning the Prefetcher can therefore be construed actually as a temporary self-inflicted un-optimization measure!
- Log files may be required during uninstall’s, and if they are not found, application uninstall may fail. Hence do not delete them.
- You never know when you require bak files. A good reason to not delete them.
- Thumbs.db files help you in loading thumbnail images faster, and in any case get re-created; unless of course you disable thumbnail caching. So disable thumbnail caching instead, rather than deleting them every now and then..
- Do not also consider deleting anything from the WinSXS folder or the Windows Installer folder. They are system folderswhich play an important role.
- Do not disable System Restore to save disk space. You never know when it could save your skin!
